Visor — Shortcut to Terminal

The utility software I am gonna introduce today is a bit special because it provides only one single function; that’s to help you open Terminal faster. You might want to ask, with the Exposé built in Mac along with shortcut keys “Command + Tab“, we can switch between applications very easily, why do we want to install such an utility just for that?
If you use Terminal a lot like me, especially you are a developer, you might find your programs are all over your screen. Sometimes you might need to hit a couple “Command + Tab” in order to get to your Terminal.
With Visor, no matter what window you are at, you can easy switch to Terminal instantly.
It’s not not that straight forward to install Visor though, please process the following steps:
- Install SIMBL;
- Download Visor and you will obtain Visor.bundle after you unzip it;
- Put Visor.bundle to ~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins folder (if it doesn’t exist, then create it);
- Restart “Terminal”.

You will notice there will be a Visor icon in your menu bar. I personally prefer double double click “Control” to activate the utility.
