DaisyDisk — View files on Mac in Sunburst Map

I have introduced two utilities to scan your folders’ sizes in Who moved my hard disk space — Check your folders’ size instantly on Mac. Today I found a better software to let you know the distribution of files on your hard drive or a specific folder.
The software is called DaisyDisk, you can download it from the official website. You can try the demo trial for free; if you like it, the software will cost US$19.95.
Upon launch up, you can choose any hard drives that are connected to your system or any specific folders in your system. Shown in the following screenshot, you can even choose from the MobileMe Virtual Disk; however, I didn’t try this software with my MobileMe account.
I chose my Macintosh HD and clicked on the scan button. It took roughly about 10 seconds before the result was displayed as following:
The Sunburst map is showing all your files in the destination I chose. Whenever I move my cursor on to the sector, the sector will be highlighted and the side panel will spontaneously show what folder the sector represents. You can easily find which sector is the junk you don’t need and which largest section should be moved. Just simply click your right button and choose shown in Finder.
This software could display the distribution of your files graphically. If you are on a budget, you can still use this software for free with full-features, but you will see this window pop up every time you launch it up.
Like this software? I strongly recommend you to support the developer’s work and buy a copy for US$19.95.
