Sennheiser VMX 100-T Bluetooth headset review

Sennheiser is one of the best brands in manufacturing audio devices, and today I am going to review the Sennheiser VMX 100-T Bluetooth headset.

-Design

My first glance at this headset giving me a weird feeling because I have never seen this design before. Usually you will be able see an ear bug that kind of sticking into your ear for better sound wave transmission and headset position affix. The whole design looks very durable and elegant.

The Sennheiser is Over-The-Ear type of headset to couple with your ear. The headset could be used with either right ear or left ear as there are speakers on both side of the headset so it doesn’t matter which side you put on. Since this headset doesn’t come with earbuds, it gives you extra comfort especially you are using it for a long time.

To use this headset, you will just need to pull down the microphone and then put the headset over your ear; once you feel it’s secure, you could push the microphone back a little bit so that it’s clip to your ear.

-Battery Life

According to the manufacture information, this headset comes with 100 hours stand-by time upon a full charge and it could also provide up to 5 hours talk time. This is not the best comparing to other headsets in the same price range. And it doesn’t come with any car charger. Unless you have your own USB charge, if it’s running out of battery while you are driving (which is most likely to be), you could just do nothing but put it down.

In the box, the headset comes with USB cable and a wall charger. If you need to charge your headset in your car, you can buy a car cigarettes lighter to USB adapter.

-Features

  • Noise Canceling: It doesn’t just block the unwanted noise to optimize the void quality for you but also strengthen your voice for better communication.
  • ActiveGard Protection: To avoid your sudden exposure to loud burst of noise.

Other thoughts:

I really like the way the Sennheiser VMX 100-T is designed; it’s not just make it more elegant but also more comfortable. I have no complain to the audio quality, but I do have to say something about the connection of this headset. If you are going to be quite distant from your phone, then this headset might not be for you. You will need to be close to your phone in order to use it. For example, if you are driving, you should place the headset somewhere on the dash or your pocket.

The headset is not the most expensive one I could see, but it’s not the cheapest neither. For this price, we have many other choices, but Sennheiser is one of my favorite brand while choosing headsets. I am going to buy one more set for one of my friends’ up-coming birthday.
